The Real Reason the Dodgers Traded Matt Kemp

Those of you who follow baseball know that the Dodgers made arguably their worst trade in franchise history when they traded their best hitting outfielder Matt Kemp this past offseason, to the division rival San Diego Padres no less. One might wonder why the Dodgers would make such a bonehead move, but I can explain why in this post. It is also well known that Matt Kemp is a prominent supporter of a cure for autism. His younger brother Carlton is severely autistic, and will likely never have sex, drive a car, go to college, or live independently. While Kemp was dating pop singer Rihanna, the two of them sponsored a charity poker tournament at the Dodgers spring training site in Arizona which benefited autism-cure charities. One might then ask why, given his seemingly good charitable endeavors, why they would trade him away. Enter Zack Greinke Greinke, who has Asperger's, is a pitcher who signed with the Dodgers prior to the 2013 season. In 2006, while playing for the Kansas City Royals, Greinke nearly quit the game alleging discrimination against his Asperger's by then Royals manager Buddy Bell. Only after the threat of a lawsuit was Greinke finally welcomed back, albeit grudgingly. Due to his Asperger's, Greinke obviously supports neurodiversity, although it's not clear when this fact became known. In April of 2013, shortly after Greinke's arrival on the Dodgers, Kemp actually vigorously defended Greinke in a fight against Kemp's current team the Padres, getting himself ejected from the game in the process. After the fight, an executive with the Padres derisively called Greinke "Rain Man," an obvious allusion to his autism. It is possible that this triggered a behind-the-scenes argument between Greinke and Kemp, exposing their philosophical differences and thus creating a rift between them. When Greinke engaged in another fight with the Arizona Diamondbacks just two months later, Kemp was nowhere in sight. After the Dodgers' elimination from the playoffs last season at the behest of the St. Louis Cardinals, they underwent a major front office change. The most notable example was hiring former Tampa Bay Rays general manager Andrew Friedman as their new president of baseball operations. Friedman is a self-proclaimed sabermetric nerd, and many so-called "nerds" either claim to have autism and/or support neurodiversity. Greinke has a unique clause in his contract in which he can opt out without penalty and become a free agent following this season. It is likely that, once the new front office took over, Greinke threatened to invoke the clause if Kemp was not traded. Friedman, being a proud "nerd," readily agreed. Well, my friends, now you know why the Dodgers traded Matt Kemp. It was because they sold out to neurodiversity.

A Tale of Two Quarterbacks

Dan Marino vs. Doug Flutie It is sometimes amazing how two men in the same profession can have vastly different political views. Dan Marino spent his entire NFL career with one team (the Miami Dolphins) and is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Doug Flutie played pro football on both sides of the border (where the rules are slightly different) but is best known for a "Hail Mary" touchdown pass he threw while a senior at Boston College, which ultimately earned him the Heisman Trophy. Both Marino and Flutie have an autistic son. However, their sons are at very different points along the autistic spectrum which has in turn led the two to form vastly different views about the subject. Dan Marino's son Mike has Asperger's, and had a virtually normal childhood. He attended a private school, was on the football team, and is now starting a career as a DJ. In a 2005 interview, Marino said that his son was "cured," but has since backed off that statement and is now supporting neurodiversity. A few years ago, Marino's charitable foundation sponsored a television ad featuring Ari Ne'eman, the founder of neurodiversity. Flutie's son Doug Jr. has childhood disintegrative disorder, which is a severe, regressive form of autism that does not improve with age. Doug Flutie Jr. is now 22 years old, but still requires round-the-clock care and likely will for the rest of his life. Doug Sr. dreamed of his son playing in the NFL, but he has never spoken a single word. Doug Flutie founded the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Curing Autism in honor of his son, and due to the severity of his son's condition he obviously supports a cure. Perhaps as consolation, Flutie's daughter Alexa is now an NFL cheerleader for the New England Patriots, which is Flutie's hometown team. I wonder if this subject comes up at all when these two men meet (which they undoubtedly have), and whether it has caused a rift between them. Both men were employed as analysts following their retirement; Marino was recently fired from his job with CBS after it was revealed he had an illegitimate child, and Flutie became a college football announcer for ESPN and now works with NBC. Even during their careers, I am almost positive they played against each other at least once, so even then the issue probably came up. Speaking of the NFL, when is LA gonna finally get a team?

Asperger's and the Virgin Killer

Last week, Elliot Rodger murdered six people in Santa Barbara before turning the gun on himself. He was dubbed the "virgin killer" by the British media because he was still a virgin due to his Asperger's syndrome. Although I was lucky enough to lose my virginity three years ago, the vast majority of autistic men are not. This is tragic, and can only be fixed via a cure, not via better understanding. The reason that Elliot Rodger was still a virgin at age 22 prior to carrying out the murders was due to his Asperger's. It wasn't due to society's poor understanding or anything like that; it was due to his Asperger's and that alone. Had he been able to lose his virginity via a cure for autism or another sort of means, the six innocent people would still be alive. Predictably, neurodiversity has launched into their "autism doesn't equal violence" idiocy, even taking twitter with their idiotic #AutismIsNotACrime. This is the same organization that uses murdered autistic children as political pawns, and then denies it when it comes back to bite them. They even fight against peoples' right to die, which I find truly appalling. Neurodiversity clearly shows very little value for human life. There is no doubt in my mind that Elliot Rodger was a member of neurodiversity. His attitude that sex was owed to him is classic neurodiverse self-centered thinking. The fact that neurodiversity had a deranged killer as one of its members proves how dangerous they really are, and must be stopped at all costs. Had I joined neurodiversity, I may very well have turned into Elliot Rodger. Fortunately, I was able to accept that autism needs a cure, and it was with that acceptance that I was able to lose my virginity despite having Asperger's, not because of it. I wish someone could've told Elliot Rodger the truth before it was too late. If that had happened, all six people would still be alive and maybe even Elliot Rodger would've lost his virginity.

Susan Boyle Does Not Have Asperger's

Once again, I here the lamestream media using autism/Asperger's as yet another cause celebre or diagnosis du jour, this time claiming that Susan Boyle suffers from the condition. For those of you who are unaware, Susan Boyle is an old, ugly lady from Scotland who did well on Britain's Got Talent because she could sing songs from Les Miserables. She now claims that she has been "diagnosed" with the condition, but that it doesn't define her (so at least she's not totally ND). Since she resides in Britain, I wonder if this "diagnosis" was performed by Dr. Simon Baron-Cohen, an ND who has "diagnosed" multiple celebrities without ever having met them. Maybe next he'll diagnose his cousin Borat. Doing this is offensive and potentially harmful to people who are genuinely autistic and need a cure. About a year ago, New York Magazine wrote a brilliant article about how autism and Asperger's are becoming commonly-used terms to describe socially awkward people, and how that is causing sources to be diverted that actually help autistic people. I checked ND's website shortly after I read the tabloid article claiming Susan Boyle had been diagnosed, but so far they had nothing about it. Maybe after they read this post, they'll put something up "celebrating" another autistic person. Autism is something to cure, not celebrate. If we don't celebrate cancer and AIDS, we shouldn't celebrate autism.

Autism Perspectives II

My friend Katie Kagan has a new blog. I recently checked it out, and I suggest you do the same. Katie talks about autism from a biomedical perspective, which is unique among a young autistic person, and possesses a sense of self-awareness that NeuroDiversity could only dream of. We need more young autistic people stating that a cure is wanted and necessary so that we can shout down NeuroDiversity once and for all. Katie Kagan is one of these people and she does a great job in my opinion. http://autismperspectivesii.blogspot.com/

Please Pray for Terry Smith

I recently learned from a friend that an 11-year-old autistic boy from Menifee, California has been missing since Saturday night. Please pray for his safe return. Thank you.

Autistic Person Murdered In Chicago

Many people have probably heard of the 14-year-old autistic person in Chicago who was brutally murdered by his mother and godmother a couple days ago. All the members of NeuroDiversity will probably say that it is the pro-cure lobby that caused this murder, which is of course bullshit. It's a damn shame that Illinois abolished the death penalty last year as those murderers certainly deserve to be executed. It was the Democrat party that abolished the death penalty, and I believe that they are responsible for this murder. His mother stated she killed him to "put him out of his misery," which is the typical Democrat attitude behind their stance on abortion, euthanasia, etc. I know NeuroDiversity will say that this lady wanted to cure her son, but murder is most certainly not a cure. The point of a cure is to make a person better, not dead. This ladies will face justice, but will NeuroDiversity ever learn?
